Reluctantly Healthy

I consider myself to be "reluctantly healthy", meaning I really don't like healthy foods and exercising, but eating healthy and working out is something I need to get used to. Nowadays, it's hard to know who to believe when it comes to eating healthy. Some people say wheat is terrible for you and yet it's better than white bread. Some people say that processed vegan/gluten-free foods are bad for you, yet it beats fast food.

I just watched a video talking about why cheese is so addictive. I am a cheese lover - I don't know too many people that aren't. However, I've been taking Voyager 3 again which is an appetite suppressant and I haven't been craving cheese. As a matter of fact, this one pill a day removes any kind of cravings. Its true what they say - when you stop eating sugar and other unhealthy foods, your body just stops wanting it. The hard part is quitting cold turkey. That's why V3 is so great!

V3 has cocoa powder, kelp and coral. I feel much better when I take it. You see inches drop off first, then the actual weight. I've lost 10 pounds on V3 so far and hoping to take off another 10. I also take walks around the park which is both zen and also gets the blood flowing.

Sometimes you just have to see what really changes lives. Watching the documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead, I saw how miraculous a 100% fruit and vegetable diet is. Time and time again, I keep hearing how people have been cured of disease and completely stopped taking medication due to this type of diet.

The juicer that my husband purchased many months ago has finally made its why from the garage into the kitchen. We were looking through the recipe booklet that came with it last night and we are excited to try some of the juices - they sound so good! In 2012, I plan to become a juicer junkie! I can't wait to see how it makes me feel!

The top three new year's resolutions are: Make more money, get out of debt and lose weight. If you need a kick start on the weight resolution, I highly recommend V3.

The Magic of Moxa

Starting something new is always an adventure. This week I learned about an herb called Moxa, also known as Mugwort. My acupunturist decided to use this herb during my treatment after a conversation about how I was feeling. My last treatment included a weight loss acupuncture point. She didn't tell me, but I asked her the next week if she had included it in my treatment because I had lost weight.

This time, I told her that it was "that time of the month" and I had experienced cramping earlier that morning. Dr. Bennett said it was because I was physically cold internally and that is what causes the cramps. That's why heating pads are so effective in relieving cramps.

She took six sticks of this Moxa herb, lit them and placed them across my abdomen. The herbs warm up and are absorbed through the skin. I am pleased to announce that I haven't had any cramps at all since the herb treatment which accompanied acupuncture as well.

She also gave me a recipe for a green smoothie that helps increase energy. This was great for me because I don't eat enough veggies.

1/2 Bunch Spinach -or- 1/2 Head of Romaine
2 Leaves of Kale
2 Leaves of Red Chard
2 Leaves of Dandelion (found at Spouts)
Chunk of Cabbage
Handful of Pineapple & Mango -or- Strawberries & 1 Banana

The fruit makes it sweeter. I made both and preferred the Strawberries & Banana combo. This isn't a smoothie that you drink. You'll want to eat it with a spoon, but it's very good and refreshing.

I make half a blender full and keep what I don't eat in the fridge. It will keep for a couple of days but the quicker you eat it, the better. I haven't broken in the juicer yet, but that's my next project!

Cupping & Acupuncture

I just had my first cupping therapy session coupled with my second acupuncture session. I've been going to chiropractors and massage therapists for most of my life. This treatment generated more relaxation that both aforementioned treatments combined!

I now have big, round hickies down my back. Not sure how I'm going to explain that to the hubby. However, my doctor says it's a great treatment for lower back pain. I am told that prior to going to your chiropractic appointment, it's good to get acupuncture done to relax the muscles so the adjustment takes better.

Since my experience was a pleasurable one, I'd like to share more information with you about both cupping and acupuncture.

Fire Cupping

Cupping Therapy is an ancient medical treatment that relies upon creating a local suction to mobilize blood flow in order to promote healing. The use of Cupping Therapy has been a part of most cultures of the world.

  • Causes blood to form in the area to promote healing
  • Triggers the lymphatic system
  • Clears blood vessels
  • Promotes energy flow through the five meridians in your back
  • Releases toxins in your body through suction penetrating the skin
  • Stretches and activates the skin

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an alternative medicine that treats patients by insertion and manipulation of needles in the body. Its proponents variously claim that it relieves pain, treats infertility, treats disease, prevents disease, and promotes general health.

Treatment for:
  • Weight Loss
  • Muscle Pain
  • Headaches
  • Depression
  • Stress
  • PMS

Drinking Your Meals

Every once in a while, I will take in something that will educate me a little more on how to take better care of the temple that is my body. I just watched a documentary called "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" on Netflix recently. It's about two men whose bodies have been trashed by steroids, obesity and illness and chronicles the rigorous healing path -- including a two-month diet of fruits and vegetables (called a Reboot) -- that both attempt in a bid to rescue their health.

Both lost an amazing amount of weight, but in addition they also were able to eliminate the massive amounts of medication they had been taking for their similar illness. They basically juiced fruits and vegetables for all meals.

What?

Yep, they drank nothing but fruit and veggie juice for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a period of 60 days. The first few days, they didn't feel so well. They had headaches from caffeine withdrawal and their bodies where quickly ridding themselves of toxins.

However, the results were fantastic. Both of them were monitored by a doctor and experienced improved heart rates, blood pressure and weight loss - massive weight loss. I'm talking 200 pounds in two months. Yes, they were both obese. One, morbidly obese.

Can you imagine what would happen if you started drinking your meals? Even for a 10-day fast? What an amazing cleanse! You would probably drop a few pounds too!

Well, I just found out my husband purchased a juicer a couple of weeks ago. It's not out because we are lacking counter space. I'm thinking we should make room for it! It may be high time for a Reboot!

When We Realize...

Guest Blogger: Roland Takaoka

"When we realize..."

What I am realizing more and more is that in our world, our Universe, everything is perfect. It is our own lack of vision and limited "seeing" that allows us (free will) to envision, and then create an environment riddled with lack, need, worry, frustration, and disappointment.

Think about it... when you are learning anything new there is a learning curve. As you develop your understanding on this new thing, you will probably run into issues as to how it all works. In trying to make the new thing or application work for you, you will probably encounter things that get in the way of successful processing.

You will think, "What the heck! I followed the directions!" But when you dig deeper, you realize that what you thought you knew was not quite accurate. You make a mental adjustment, that changes your physical application of the process, and VOILA! It works!

That is how life is. For those still looking for clues (all of us) life is for living, not dying, wasting, withering, and diminishing. In living, our discovery is constantly telling us that there is more to the story of life. We do not know it all. Our goal is to take what we understand as the Truth, add onto it, and act in accordance with Truth in this physical life, making it a little better for ourselves, and those around us.

As we turn from thinking in the limited senses, feeling like life ends with physical death, and all we do is grow old and die, we have the opportunity to discover that which is ever-present around us, the Truth of life. This is that in living, we are spiritual beings, created in perfection, always empowered, and always whole.

Which means that if we are always empowered and always whole, we have the ability to create an environment better that that which we traverse.

Because what we think NOW, becomes our tomorrow.

...and when you give that some thought, and get it, you will throw your head back, and LAUGH!

Red Pill, Blue Pill

Isn't it amazing how epiphanies feel? The journey I began after watching, reading and listening to The Secret has been an amazing one so far. As with many people, I was passionate to learn more about the Law of Attraction (LOA) as I listened to the CD's over and over again.

  • Could it be that I could control my future?
  • Was I really responsible for what has happened in my life?
  • Would just simply changing my thoughts make such a big difference?

In my search for more information, people began appearing in my life. First, I met a wonderful lady named Linda. She had this set of CD's that take concept of LOA to a whole new level. I continue to listen to them over and over again, every day.

I then met with a networking colleague of mine, Roland, on a potential project for my company Wicked Marketing. Our conversation ended up on LOA and we were both excited that we had found another person who understood the concept. He gave me a book entitled 'The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent - Living the Art of Allowing' by Esther and Jerry Hicks (The Teachings of Abraham).

I awoke abruptly with an idea one night after reading a couple of chapters of this book. The idea incorporated all of the things I had learned so far on the subject. I began, at 3:00am, to write a business plan for a center called "Feel Good Now". The last page was a list of people I would want to partner with on this project.

My first step was to begin talking to everyone on my partnership list. I didn't know if they were students of LOA or not. It just made sense for them to be involved. As I brought up the subject with one person after another, I was shocked and amazed to find out that each one of them knew about the Law of Attraction and were excited about my project.

As I began putting more and more LOA teachings into practice, things in my life changed and I began to 'manifest' the things I wanted in my life. For instance, I received a call out of the blue from a former work colleague to hire me as a part-time contractor for their marketing department - 30 hours a week of billable time. Guess which prayer that answered for me?

Speaking of prayer, I also began attending church on Sundays - something I hadn't done in probably two decades. I wanted to learn how to pray, now that I knew what the purpose was. Oh, how I wish I had known this years ago!

My next action was to literally 'feel good now'. I was low on energy, a tad over weight and my moods were swinging. Next thing you know, I'm talking to a client of mine who has found the miracle pill that answered my prayers. I began taking this pill once a day, filling my body with kale and coral and other wonderful, natural ingredients. Now I have energy in spades, I'm always happy and I've lost 5 pounds so far. It was just the kick start I needed.

My 'Feel Good Now' project is underway. My partners and I will be creating a terrific complimentary meeting filled with LOA wisdom and sprinkled with delicious food and beverages. Stay tuned for our first meeting details!

Red or blue? Which pill did I take? I took the one that opened my eyes to experience life the way it was meant to be experienced. Every day is new and exciting because I EXPECT it to be amazing. This blog has been created to document my Law of Attraction journey, because I know it will be full of miracles that I will want to share.
